Brooklyn-based Americana/Alt-Country band Yarn’s sound owes as much to Gram Parsons and Earl Scruggs as to Jerry Garcia and Exile On Main Street-era Rolling Stones. Much like its name, the band Yarn weaves country, rock, blues and more into a genre-defying blend that has captured the attention of fans and critics alike. Following in a fine tradition that includes forward thinking roots bands like The Flying Burrito Brothers and New Riders of The Purple Sage. Yarn weaves roots music idioms into a fresh sound that turns on hipsters and fans of country music alike, with technically impressive song-crafting and universal tales from the road of life.
Aly Tadros
"Her second album, The Fits, to be released January 15, delivering a sound as well-traveled as its owner. Her folk-pop roots — think Damien Rice meets Feist — may reach from Mexico to the Middle East, but the sound is her own." – San Antonio Current

When Aly Tadros was offered her first paid gig, she had three songs under her belt. The set time called for two hours.

She took it anyway.

With a voice as angelic as it is weather beaten, and music NPR Austin calls "delightfully wistful indie folk with tender and earnest roots," Aly Tadros has spent the last decade traveling across Egypt, Turkey, Mexico, and Europe. Banned with a classical and acoustic guitars, ukulele, and traditional Mexican vihuela, there's no denying her travels have informed the breadth of her songwriting, noted best for its intimacy, honesty and lyricism.

Tadros has played over 600 stages across North America and Europe in her four years as a touring artist. She also helped to form The Sweetness, a Toronto/Austin based collective of singer/songwriters. Just two weeks after forming as a band, The Sweetness raised over $6,000, toured Europe, and traveled across North America with a German documentary film crew commissioned by the Stuttgart FilmAkademie. The film is set for release in 2013.

This year has been her most exciting yet – with invitations to showcase at The Folk Alliance International Conference (The Sweetness), CMJ, and endorsements from both Guild and Fender Guitars. Her sophomore album, The Fits, was produced by Duane Lundy (Jim James, Ben Sollee, These United States), and is set for release January 15, 2013.
