WHITEHORSE
The classic tale of musical romance continues for Luke Doucet and Melissa McClelland, the husband and wife duo behind Whitehorse. One year after their debut, Whitehorse returns in ambitious fashion with The Fate of the World Depends on this Kiss and a date at Massey Hall in 2013.
The Fate of the World Depends on This Kiss is everything the talented pair's first full length promised. As a whole, the album reveals the range of creative possibility that only expands as Whitehorse develops and focuses their sound. Song by song, the record takes surprising turns; while each track confidently bears Whitehorse's signature blistering guitar work and love-knotted vocals, their willingness to take risks and ability to pull them off makes for captivating listening.
Whitehorse's live show is built on mesmerizing guitar work and smoldering vocal chemistry, but also brings much more to the stage with complex layers of percussion, keyboard and telephone receiver amplification, tangled like an embrace with the help of looping pedals. Their sold out Winter Garden Theatre show in February, 2012 signaled their unquestionable arrival as a band.
With savage talent and tender hearts, Whitehorse expertly plays both lion and lamb on The Fate of This World Depends on This Kiss. Six Shooter Records is proud to release this fine album on August 28, 2012.

Daniel Romano

Daniel Romano is making country music.
"Sleep Beneath the Willow" (Daniel's sophomore release following June 2010's critically acclaimed "Workin' for the music man") mixes timeless songwriting with late '60s, AM country arrangements baring the influence of artists such as Lee Hazelwood and Musicor era George Jones. The album is constructed around flourishes of fiddle, honky-tonk guitar, pedal steel, and sweeping harmonies courtesy of a trio of Toronto singers: Misha Bower (The Bruce Peninsula), Tamara Lindeman (The Weather Station), and Lisa Bozikovic. The songs are stories of regret, sorrow, love, and yearning: the stuff of life. They tell of ex-wives, bluebirds, and finding the strength to do the right and proper thing. It's a big, warm sound.
Approaching his music like a true craftsman, Daniel produced, engineered, and performed the majority of the instruments on Sleep Beneath the Willow. It was recorded to two inch tape in his home studio in Welland, ON.
Daniel has a platinum record for his production work with City and Colour and a Juno Nomination for graphic design. For the past seven years he has performed in the critically acclaimed rock band, Attack in Black. Sleep Beneath the Willow was released on April 5th 2011 on You've Changed Records, the label Daniel runs in partnership with Steven Lambke (Baby Eagle).
