Yip Deceiver
Yip Deceiver
Yip Deceiver, born out of Athens, Georgia, is the collaborative effort of producer/songwriter, Davey Pierce, and accountant/vibes manager, Nicolas "Dobby" Dobbratz. What had been a solo studio project for Pierce became a band with the addition of Dobby, and Yip Deceiverplayed their first show on New Year's Eve 2010 at Athens venue the 40 Watt club. Two years later, after the release of their debut EP and a split 7" with Kishi Bashi, both on Dobby's label, Aerobic International, Yip Deceiver is ready to drop their first LP, Medallius. The title encapsulates the elegance and coolness of their current lifestyle and implies the inevitable fame and fortune that awaits. No doubt, their sophomore effort will be drenched in hardships and disillusionment, the kind that so often come with such wealth and overwhelming pressure. In the meantime, the duo have enjoyed hours in the lab with outdated Midi hardware, tabletop technology, and analog and FM synths creating an electronic pop record with true soul and character. Medallius includes special guest appearances by vocalists Christine Pierce (Rareluth) and Simone Rubi (Rubies), as well as instrumentalists Zach Colwell (Chappo/Fancy colors/Sondre Lerche) and Clayton Rychlik (of Montreal). Look for Medallius due out Spring 2013 via Aerobic International (US) and Snowhite (Germany).
Ed Monk
Ed Monk are an Indie Rock 4-piece hailing from Louisville, KY. Formed in January of 2014, the group has developed a striking and original sound through the collaboration of brothers Andrew and Adam Sears , Patrick Denney and Zack Stefanski. With a wide array of influences, the band melds guitar centric rock instrumentation with relentless groove and a taste for the unconventional. Their Debut EP received positive reviews locally from Louisville.com and the independent music blog, Never Nervous.

"The solos reach anthemic proportions, and the riffs harken to a drive with the top down." - Will Ford, Louisville.coom

"...Ed Monk know what their doing and do so with style and finesse." - Syd Bishop, Never Nervous

Since releasing and touring on their debut self-titled EP in 2015, the group have been hard at work writing and recording a yet-to-be-named follow-up.
