Blackbird Blackbird
Blackbird Blackbird
Blackbird Blackbird is the moniker of San Francisco-based w√ľnderkind Mikey Maramag. His unique style of dreamy folktronica recalls influences from all ends of the musical spectrum; deeply textured, hypnotic songs pay homage to psychedelic pop the likes of Caribou and Washed Out, while the warmth of analogue instrumentation spliced with digital artifacts hints at contemporaries James Blake, Four Tet and Mount Kimbie.

Anthemic, dream-driven themes inspire Blackbird Blackbird's work, where layers of electronic texture drape over organic sounds and ghostly vocals. Within elongated song structures, Blackbird Blackbird harnesses thematic elements of dynamism and composition to create depth and complexity, while never losing sight of his pop sensibilities.

Blackbird Blackbird's debut album Summer Heart was lauded by modern tastemakers, receiving critical acclaim from the likes of Fader, XLR8R, Rcrdlbl, and more. Recently returning from a whirl-wind European tour, Blackbird Blackbird has been signed to the Lavish Habits imprint out of San Francisco. His upcoming Boracay Planet EP features remixes from the likes of American bass music virtuoso Grenier (aka DJ G) and Atlanta's foremost proprietor of rave music, Distal. This highly-anticipated EP is slated for release October 16 2012.
Chad Valley
Chad Valley
Chad Valley are the personal outpourings of one Hugo Manuel, the balearic inclined vocalist of Oxford's Jonquil and founder member of the Blessing Force collective.

Taking a more electronic approach to sunset vibes, Hugo has made quite a splash this past summer. In his short 25 show career he's already played in Dublin, Paris, Budapest, Belgrade and Istanbul, been a big smash at In The City and supported the likes of Amiina, Mountain Goats and Foals. His music has been on every blog you can think of from Gorilla vs. Bear to Pitchfork's Forkcast, the latter of which has featured him three times in recent months and at one point in late October was the fourth most blogged about artist on the planet.

He's enjoyed a host of radio plays across the BBC and had his debut BBC session recorded for Huw Stephens' show in January 2011.

Chad Valley's debut EP is out on Service's US imprint Cascine (USA / UK / JP / Scan) and French label Maman (EU) and a follow up is slated for release this coming Spring in UK, US and Japan.
Shallou
Shallou is an experimental electronic act formed in March 2014 in New Orleans where he attended college. He was inspired to create electronic music in a city where it is extremely underrepresented. He released his first track, "Waves" in March 2014, receiving attention from Yours Truly and Hype Machine blogs. Shallou was asked to do an official remix for the indie pop/rock artist Andrew Belle, released in October 2014. He has since been supported by Fader, Earmilk, Indie Shuffle and other major blogs. While working on his first EP, he has done remixes for Cruisr and Miamigo. His track "Surface" has crossed over 100k plays since being premiered by Fader in April.
